Coming hot off our list of Newcastle acts to watch in 2017. The Lake Macquarie-based Indie Rock outfit Brightness have released their debut single.
The song ‘Oblivion’, which was originally uploaded to triple j Unearthed in August last year, has been given a makeover with a new music video and the announcement that the band has signed to I OH YOU Records.
I OH YOU is a Melbourne-based record label and promotions company that boasts a wide roster including Violent Soho, DMA’s, Snakadaktal – and now Brightness.
Brightness is the brainchild of fifth-generation musician Alex Knight. In the music video of ‘Oblivion’ we are given an insight into the man. Directed by Mclean Stephenson, the video follows Knight around his home and surrounds.
This single is the first taste of Brightness’ upcoming debut album Teething, which will also be released through I OH YOU Records later in the year.
