Boy & Bear, The Waifs and Busby Marou at Port Macquarie’s Town Beach Park in April as part of the 2023 Ride the Wave surf, skate and music festival.

The all-ages and dog-friendly music festival is a ticketed event on the Ride the Wave festival line-up with the surf and skate sport action, markets, a family fun zone and other activities all available for spectators.

Organisers say they have kept the ticket price low to make the festival accessible to as many people as they can, charging well below what a lot of other festivals charge to see artists of the same calibre.

“The festival is run by local charity Make a Difference (MAD) โ€“ who support marginalized people in the Port Macquarie/Hastings region,” M.A.D & RTW Event Coordinator, Erin Denham said.

“So, despite our small entry fee, weโ€™re also hoping to raise some much-needed funds to help with the work we undertake feeding and supporting those in need.

“Homelessness issues are not always visible in our community but there are hundreds of people living on the streets in our region alone. And Ride the Soundwave will help us create awareness and raise funds to support them. 100% of our entry fees go directly to the MAD charity.”

The lineup features a mix of indie, folk, and rock acts with a broad appeal alongside food stalls and markets.

A chill-out zone and a Barrel Room Bar will also give punters the chance to relax and enjoy a cold beverage on the day.

โ€œWeโ€™ve gone with artists that will bring a great laid-back beach vibe suiting our coastal location at Town Beach.

“The limited capacity of around 5,000 for the music event will also add to the laid-back vibe โ€“ itโ€™s an intimate venue that will be comfortable for all ages.

“The skate park is at the back of our concert space along with the entry to the Hastings River, and Portโ€™s beautiful Town Beach is to our left.”

There are only 5,000 tickets to the Ride the Wave surf, skate and music festival, headlined by Boy & Bear, on 29 April 2023. They will go on sale on 15 December. Visit ridethesoundwave.com.au to find out more.
