Local favourite Bodie is taking over the Royal Oak Hotel this November for a special month-long residency called Bodie & Friends, bringing together a stellar lineup of local talent for five Sundays of live music, good vibes, and Sunday sessions done right.
Each week promises a fresh mix of artists, sounds and collaborations, making it one of the most anticipated runs on the Newcastle live scene this month.
Things kicked off over the weekend with Bodie joined by rising stars Georgie Winchester and Claudi, setting the tone for a residency that celebrates creativity and community in equal measure.
This week, Cormac Grant and Demi Mitchell take the stage on 9 November, blending folk storytelling with rich, soulful melodies.
As the month rolls on, Taylan Bragg and Packed With Haste will bring the heat on 16 November, before Horse delivers an ambient set on 23 November, promising something a little more introspective and atmospheric.
Wrapping up the series on 30 November, Aunty Alan and Zeal.h close out the run with a genre-bending finale that’s sure to leave audiences wanting more.

The residency highlights Bodie’s knack for collaboration and his genuine passion for Newcastle’s thriving live music scene.
Each performance is set to showcase a different side of the city’s talent, from emerging songwriters to seasoned performers, all under the warm glow of The Oak’s beloved beer garden.
With Bodie curating each lineup himself, no two Sundays will sound the same. The series promises to be a celebration of connection, creativity, and the kind of local music magic that makes Newcastle’s scene so special.
Bodie & Friends runs every Sunday in November from 5–8 pm at the Royal Oak Hotel, Cooks Hill. Entry is free, so grab your mates, pull up a stool, and settle in for five weeks of stellar live music and Sunday afternoon sunshine.
