Newcastle audiences are in for a theatrical experience like no other as Chookas Entertainment, in collaboration with Insight Acting, presents Edward Albee’s provocative play The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?

The production follows Martin, a successful architect whose seemingly perfect life is thrown into turmoil after he confesses an unexpected and unsettling love affair.

As his world unravels, the play explores the complexities of love, societal norms, and human relationships in a way that is both shocking and deeply thought-provoking.

Chookas Entertainment has built a reputation for bringing high-quality theatre to Newcastle, following their recent sold-out season of Clue On Stage.

The company is dedicated to pushing artistic boundaries, and their decision to stage Albee’s controversial masterpiece is a testament to their commitment to thought-provoking storytelling.

The play’s bold themes and unflinching examination of human nature align perfectly with Chookas’ ethos of delivering theatre that challenges as much as it entertains.

Helmed by director Tim Kemp and featuring a stellar cast including Angela Robertson, Tony Jozef, Clio Vellis, and Joel Stibbard, the production boasts a team of seasoned theatre professionals.

With lighting design by Riordan Munnoch and set construction by Andrew Miller, the creative team is set to bring Albee’s intense and gripping vision to life on stage.

Chookas Entertainment will bring The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? to the Civic Playhouse from 18-31 May. Tickets are on sale now via the Civic Theatre Newcastle website. This one is recommended for audiences aged 15 and over, the production contains strong language and adult themes.
