Newcastle audiences are shining up their cowboy boots for the local season of Here You Come Again, the acclaimed Dolly Parton-inspired musical.
This rhinestone-studded treat will roll into the Civic Theatre this November for a limited season, promising a heartwarming mix of comedy, nostalgia, and chart-topping Dolly hits.
We’re talking songs like Jolene, 9 to 5, Islands in the Stream, Applejack, Little Bird and the quintessential torch song, I Will Always Love You.
The musical tells the story of a devoted Dolly fan who finds comfort and courage when a fantasy version of the country legend appears to help him through life’s challenges. It’s a feel-good ride packed with humour, hope, and a live band delivering every toe-tapping hit.
Tricia Paoluccio, who also co-created the musical, steps into Dolly’s iconic shoes for the show, backed by a stellar Australian cast and a tight-knit live band.
“I’ve loved Dolly my whole life and have been singing her songs since I was a little girl,” Tricia said.
“It’s been my dream to create a musical comedy that celebrates her music while imagining how she might help someone in a real-life way.
“Having Dolly’s personal stamp of approval on this piece makes it even more special, and I can’t wait to bring this production to Australia!”
