FOCAL POINT: The Big Draw Festival takes over Lake Mac this October

Lake Mac is getting behind an international celebration of artistic expression this October as part of The 2023 Big Draw Festival.

This year’s festival aims to transform personal experiences into creative works and emphasise the power of drawing as a universal language. From October 1st to 30th, Lake Mac will host events suitable for all ages.

These events will invite participants to explore how they process the world around them through their senses to encourage artists and enthusiasts to dive into the depths of touch, sight, sound, taste, and smell, infusing these sensations into their artistic creations.

Events will be held all over Lake Macquarie at venues like the Multi-Arts Pavilion, mima (MAP mima), yapang (MAC yapang), Wangi Creative Hub, and Warners Bay Foreshore.

Aspiring artists can look forward to immersive adult drawing workshops led by accomplished artists and there is a stack of family-friendly drawing activities planned too.

Lake Mac’s Big Draw Festival events are happening across October 2023. Check out the calendar of events below and visit lakemac.com.au to find out more.
