Newcastle’s own Morgan Evans is set to drop a brand-new single, Beer Back Home, ahead of his Howlin’ Country music festival appearance

The track, which is set for release on 10 October, marks the first release under his new partnership with Virgin Music Group and paves the way for a fresh album slated for early 2026.

The singer-songwriter, who cut his teeth in Newcastle before breaking through internationally, has become one of Australia’s most successful country music exports. With more than 800 million streams across his catalogue and praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Evans has built a global fanbase while never losing sight of his roots.

“I’m stoked to partner with Virgin Music Group on this record,” Evans said.

“The industry’s changing fast, but their model keeps artists in control, especially creatively. I couldn’t be prouder of this new music or more excited to share it with the world alongside the legends at VMG.”

The appearance at Howlin’ Country will not only be Evans’ first major Australian show since 2022, but it will also be the live, full-band debut of Beer Back Home. He’ll perform alongside co-headliner, Lainey Wilson, and acts like Flatland Cavalry, Kaitlin Butts and Adam Newling.

Evans has spent the past two years reconnecting with Newcastle while writing songs that reflect both his Australian upbringing and his life in Nashville.

From topping charts with hits like Kiss Somebody and Day Drunk to selling out the Sydney Opera House with his raw ballad Over For You, Evans has proven his ability to craft music that resonates deeply with fans worldwide.

Beer Back Home, the new single from Morgan Evans, will hit streaming services on 10 October 2025. You can catch him at Howlin’ County on 14 February. Tickets are on sale now via howlin.country.
