Becca Hatch will hit the stage at Museum Park in September to headline This Land concert.
The musical showcase of nationally renowned and local First Nations artists, presented by the University of Newcastle, is part of the 2023 New Annual Festival.
In 2017, Hatch clinched the prestigious Triple J Unearthed Highโs Indigenous Initiative award.
Since then, she has gone on to establish a prominent presence within Australia’s dynamic R&B landscape. She’s performed alongside acts like Spacey Jane and Vera Blue and her show at this year’s Vivid LIVE was an absolute triumph.
Hatch will be joined on the bill by Truwulway woman and hip hop artist Denni, Wiradjuri singer-songwriter Blanche and Maanyung who performed at the opening and closing of the First Nations Runway at the 2022 Melbourne Fashion Festival.
Award-winning Worimi and Gamilaroi musician Jacob Ridgeway, who curated This Land, will also take to the stage.
“This Land continues the First Nations’ musical celebration of the soul and spirit of the many nations in this country. This yearโs iteration will continue to nourish the musical tastes of all who attend,” Jacob said.
Museum Park will play host to Ngiarrenumba Burrai (Our Country) through the 2023 New Annual Festival including the This Land concert on Friday, 29 September. Visit newannual.com to find out more.
