Redevelopment of the historical Awaba House has officially begun.
Located on the shores of Lake Macquarie in Booragul, Awaba House is one of the Hunter’s most cherished heritage sites and has been a long-standing symbol of community pride and cultural heritage.
“Awaba House holds a special place in the hearts of many and this revitalisation is a testament to our commitment to preserving local heritage,” Lake Macquarie Mayor Kay Fraser said
“The build and operator will breathe new life into the space, which will soon be home to exquisite weddings, functions, celebrations and gatherings.
The redevelopment includes an improved dining area equipped with a modern kitchen and bar facilities, making it a desirable location for both casual dining and upscale events.
Additionally, the project will feature a dedicated space for weddings and events, complemented by expansive outdoor terraces that offer stunning views of Lake Macquarie.
Australian company Baseline Projects has been entrusted with overseeing the construction, which is expected to be completed by late 2025. You can find out more by visiting lakemac.com.au.
