If you are anything like us, you may have driven along Industrial Drive, Mayfield recently and noticed some blue and white signs?
On closer inspection we found they read, “Greek Food & Coffee. 200 metres. Next Left”…
Well, that has piqued our interest. But what’s it all about, where exactly can you find this Grecian goodness? This morning, curiosity got the better of us and we just had to find out!
Athens Coffee House is a one-man operation. A modern and oh-so-cute, pop up trailer which is conveniently located at 51 Industrial Drive, Mayfield – inside what seems to be an old car-park or perhaps industrial site.
And yep, it’s accessible from both sides of Industrial Drive and, you can actually ‘drive-thru’ and not even get out of your car if you don’t want to.
On this sunny Winter morning, we ordered a Freddo Cappuccino – trying to channel some of those Greek Island holiday vibes – before then returning to working from home. And it was delicious. Layers of strong, rich coffee and silky milk, served on ice and topped generously with cinnamon. We were buzzing.
Now, we didn’t get any sugar added to our coffee which was actually genius because it opened up space for sweets. The Raw Twix was a total winner, full of dates, coconut and honey – ticking all of the morning tea boxes.
Also on the menu at Athens Coffee House are a small selection of home-made Greek savoury treats such as spanakopita and hot coffees too.
Athens Coffee House is located at 51 Industrial Drive, Mayfield (opposite Wests Mayfield) and open Monday – Friday, 5.30am – 11am.
