Newcastle singer-songwriter Amy Vee will record a live album during a very special show, scheduled for early next year, at Lizotte’s in Lambton.
The award-winning and independent artist says she will record a collection of new and unreleased songs live in front of an audience as a celebration of her long relationship with the local live music institution.
Vee has described many of the songs she will record on the night as ‘heart-achingly honest’ documents on the fall and re-birth of her resolve and identity during the pandemic.
Band members from Amy’s hugely successful and sell-out Glory Box: a euphoric 90s experience shows at Lizotte’s will join her onstage for the recording including Michael Romeo on guitar, Andrew Sampford on keys, Ben Pittman on bass, Tyson Hilder on drums and Natasha Rusterholz on backing vocals.
The Glory Box show featured a collection of emotionally charged songs from the ’90s, celebrating artists like Massive Attack and Radiohead.
Amy will perform a selection of songs from that show, and some tracks from her sophomore album Same Skin during the live record.
All pre-purchase ticket buyers will be gifted a high-quality download of the album prior to public release.
Amy Vee’s live album recording will take place at Lizotte’s in Lambton on Thursday, 16 February 2023. Tickets are availaible via lizottes.com.au.
