The Old Newcastle station aka Newcastle’s hippest new space to call home has your school holiday plans sorted.
Here at Newcastle Live, we know how tough it is trying to keep the kids occupied for two whole weeks, or supervised whilst you’re out there winning the bread.
There are many school holiday guides out there, but here’s an all-encompassing guide for those who want to keep things central over the next two weeks.
Do your kids love to make and create?
Artistic types with a flair for all things fun and colourful? Why not pop into Makespace these school holidays and join in a whole day of fun?
From jewelry making to screenprinting, sewing painting, exploring art, mask making, photography, and sun-printing. Wednesday and Thursday of the holidays, from 9-3, it’s a stress-free day for you, and creatively challenging (and rewarding) day for your kids.

Have you got a budding author in the family?
A young storyteller with a passion for stringing words together? Or maybe they just have a wild imagination and a fantastic story to tell? Never fear… Imagination Station is here. In this choose your own adventure style workshop, kids will make and create a character, and combine art, craft and writing techniques to tell their very own story. 9am – 3pm both Fridays.
Because everyone needs a little en in their life right? That includes your kids! Trust us, (and the Peaceful Minds Project) you can thank us later. Both Wednesdays of the School Holidays Peaceful Minds Project will be hosting kids yoga with Meg Linton. #blessed
Scooter Track and Wildflower Cafe
Nothing says October school holidays like coffee and a little bit of sunshine. Why not combine the two and head to the scooter track to let off some steam (hey it’s adult friendly too) and while away the morning?
Snack and doggo friendly.
