NOT TOYING AROUND: Sales of adult products up by 59% in Newcastle

One of the nation’s largest adult toy retailers says they’ve seen a dramatic increase in online sales to people living in Newcastle during the pandemic.

With sales to Novocastrians up by 59%, it would seem that local panic buyers are not just hoarding toilet paper. Justin Easterbrook, the owner of the online adult toy store, The Hot Spot, says that he expects to run out of certain product lines in the next few weeks.

“Toy cleaner stocks will only be able to hold up for another couple of weeks before being completely depleted,” he said

The online retailer says they have particularly seen a spike in sales to people aged 25 to 34 years old with women hitting the virtual check out more often than men, making up 7 out of 10 sales on the website.

Justin says that the most popular products being purchased are an air pulse vibrators, Wet Stuff Toy Cleaners, the Jack Rabbit Automatic Thrusting Vibrator and a product called We-Vibe Sync which is described as a “couples vibrator” which is controlled by a SmartPhone app.
