Parts of the Hunter, North West, Northern Tablelands, Central West, Western District, Central Tablelands, Greater Sydney and South East regions are in the worst drought we’ve seen in years. The photos and videos we’ve seen online have made a real impact on many of our team and we wanted to shine a light on how everyone in our community can help out.
Here are three ways you can make a difference today.

Sign the Petition
Click the link below and will take you to theland.com.au – There you will be able to read more about the petition and register to receive forms and start collecting signatures.
The Land says that the key figure is 10,000 signatures which would ensure a parliamentary debate on the issue. Maitland MP Jenny Aitchison will take the petition to NSW Parliament on Fairfax Mediaโs behalf and speak on the issue during the debate.

Donate to Buy A Bale
Farmers in Queensland and Northern NSW need our help to keep their cattle, sheep and horses alive through one of the worst droughts in living history and after the cessation of live cattle exports, no wet season and fires. You can help by putting your hand in your pocket and buying them a bale through the Buy A Bale initiative.

Shop Local
Support the farmers by buying locally grown produce and regionally sourced products. You can do this in a number of ways…
> Chatting with the store holders at farmer’s markets about where their produce is sourced from. Not all farmers markets have the same guidelines, so check to see if stands are required to sell products grown or produced on local or regional farms.
> Take a road trip to the country over the weekend. Support local accommodation providers, shop in the local store and buy from roadside farm stands
> Visit farmbuy.com and spend your dollars directly with farmers.
