Lake Macquarie’s largest sustainability event returns to Speers Point Park this September and we’ve got all the info you need to make the most of the event.
Living Smart Festival 2018
Craig Reucassel’s War On Waste
Special presenter, Craig Reucassel will bring his War On Waste message to Lake Macquarie as he headlines the annual festival. The founding member of the satirical group, The Chaser, won a Logie Award earlier this month for his ground-breaking three-part War on Waste series, which prompted nationwide action to reduce reliance on plastic bags, disposable coffee cups and other single-use items. Reucassel will give two presentations during the event.
Free yoga classes
We’ll be kicking off this year’s Living Smart Festival with a free morning yoga class in the park. The class will be run by Yogic Wisdom and is suitable for all skill levels, from complete newbies to experienced yogis. There will also be targeted kids’ and seniors’ yoga classes throughout the day. Bring your friends along for the perfect start to the day and then stick around to enjoy the largest sustainability festival in Lake Mac.
The Living Smart Festival is bringing together the lost trades and craftspeople who continue to create beautiful artisan goods by hand. Come along to the Festival to see these talented career artisans including blacksmiths, spinners and weavers, ceramicists, candle makers, demonstrating their trades.
Raid My Wardrobe
The region’s favourite pre-loved fashion event, Raid My Wardrobe, is returning to the Living Smart Festival for a special pop-up event! An exclusive collection of 15 pre-loved fashion stalls will feature at this special pop-up event in the Heritage Shed at Speers Point Park. Be inspired with fashion tips that refresh and reinvent your wardrobe, save you money and are kind to the environment!
