We’ve waxed lyrical about the amazing Susuru since they made Newcastle foodie dreams come true when they opened back in 2017.
But our fair city is stacked full of great places to grab your noodle fix.
From Pho to Udon, this town is awash with noodly goodness and we’ve got the lowdown on where to find the best bowls.
Looking for the best bowl of Pho in Newcastle? We think we’ve found it. You won’t break the bank here either, with a bowl of their delicious Pho only setting you back between $13 and $15.
The flavour is of the broth is to die for, it’s subtle and multi-layered. Our hearts are with the Pho Bo Nam (beef brisket), but you won’t go wrong with any of the Pho on the menu
It’s all about the Udon here.
And for us, the Tori Numban is the place you should head on the menu. The flavours of the chicken and shallots pair perfectly with the tender Udon and hot soup. The other dish to mention is the Tempura Udon.
Who doesn’t love a tempura prawn?
Franky’s Lan Zhou Noodles
Hand-pulled noodles packed with flavour.
Their noodle dishes are all about simple ingredients and traditional flavour methods. We totally recommend eating in and soaking up the vibe in this cosy Carrington eatery. And while you’re there, don’t forget to grab a plate of dumplings.
You won’t regret it.
Let’s talk Shanghai Stir-Fried Noodle.
It’s an old staple you would have had with your Mum and Dad over a Chinese feed many times, but here at Eight Buns, they’re really taking it to the next level.
The noodles are perfectly cooked and you can really taste the wok skill.
Stay with us here. This Marketown hole in the wall noodle shop is nothing to look at but they’re consistently serving up takeaway containers full of fresh and delicious noodles.
It’s all about the value proposition here.
Sure, it’s not really traditional, but everything we’ve tried from here has been tasty and you can’t argue about the price.
