The Newcastle Regional Show is almost here. From Friday, March 5, until Sunda,y March 8 the Newcastle Showground will transform into a bustling scene of rides, showbags, fairy floss and live entertainment. For those interested in the latter, we’ve got all the info you need to make sure you see the best of the line up.
Friday 6th of March
10.00am till 10.40am – Connor Wink
A must-see. Connor has already recorded 2 CDs Sounds for Sight andSounds for Sight: The Journey Continues at home with a 16-track mixer and sang and overdubbed own voice for backing vocals. He was 11 at the time. Connor started playing piano when he was 2 and started singing when he was 5. His biggest musical influences are Bee Gees andCher who he met in 2010. 5.30pm till 6.00pm – Earthen African Drumming
Earthen Rhythms…African Drumming…lives and loves African Drumming! We are based in Newcastle, but facilitate drumming workshops throughout the East Coast of Australia from Sydney through to Brisbane.There’s something 4 all ages and occasions. Find them at the Indoor Entertainment Stage.
6.30pm till 7.00pm – Adam Price
Adam is christian country singer who loves to put on a good show for those who like easy listening, country rock, blues, modern country, old style country and American country music. Having a very natural, warm and personal touch he pleases his loyal listeners all over Australia (and the world). Find him at the Indoor Entertainment Stage.
Saturday 7th of March
9.15am till 9.45am – Little Scallywagz
One for the kids. The Little Scallywagz are the latest sensation in the world of children’s entertainment. The non-stop action-packed themed performances are filled with musical excitement and laughter. Find them on the Outdoor Community Stage.
6.30pm till 7.00pm – AngieQ
AngieQ has been involved singing with various bands in her ‘early’ years playing at The Beach Hotel, Mary Ellen and Nags Head. She has also performed in plays/musical theatre, treading the boards at The Civic Theatre, Civic Playhouse, Lizottes and The Entertainment Centre. Angela is a three-time CONDA* nominee and has appeared in theatre productions such as, Damn Yankees, Dames At Sea, The Full Monty, Witches Of Eastwick, Pillowman, Wild Party, Calendar Girls and Anatomy of Buzz to name a few. 7.30pm till 8.15pm – Komiti Levai
This local keyboard player and vocalist will be entertaining you on the Indoor Entertainment Stage Program.
Sunday 8th of March

In the ring
There’s heaps to see in the main Showground ring. Highlights include the Clem Varley Memorial Show Jump, FMX KAOS Freestyle Motorcross and the Fireworks Spectacular on Friday. The Grand Parade, Marching Koalas and the Ute Parade are in the ring on Saturday with the Celebrity Wife Carrying and Holden vs Ford Racing taking place on Sunday.
