On Sunday it was announced that the WWE would be bringing their show NXT to Australia and New Zealand for their first ever set of live shows in the country.

NXT is a subsiduary brand of World Wrestling Entertainment. Airing weekly on Foxtel and on the WWE Network, NXT is in many ways a “feeder system” for the WWE – it’s where wrestlers learn their craft before heading up to the big leagues of the WWE. The company has grown over the years, and NXT’s tour of Australia and New Zealand will be the band’s largest international tour to date. The tour was announced during NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, a special event held at the Barclay’s Centre in New York.

WWE Executive Vice President Paul “Triple H” Levesque said โ€œWe couldn’t be more excited to continue the explosive international growth of NXT and bring the hard hitting excitement of our live shows and larger than life Superstars to Australia and New Zealand for the first time”.

For Pro Wrestling fans, this seems to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. The WWE haven’t had held a show in Newcastle in about a decade, and NXT is currently offering some of the most exciting wrestling on the planet. NXT is home to international stars such as Samoa Joe, Bayley, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Bobby Roode. Not to mention that NXT is currently home to several Australian superstars including Buddy Murphy, Billie Kay, and TM61.

Tickets are on sale beginning Monday, 5 September at 10 am (local) via tegdainty.com.au
