JUMPIN’ JUNIPERS! It’s time to raise a glass for World Gin Day!

The human race has been enjoying its characteristic juniper flavour for centuries.

And this weekend, it’s time to raise a glass and say a big “hip, hip, hooray,” to gin and one Newcastle distillery is really pushing the boat out.

Yep, that’s right. Earp Distilling Co is celebrating World Gin Day in Style on Saturday 12 June and all we can say is thank gin that it’s a long weekend!

From pop-up bars to food pairing and everything in between if you count gin among your fave tipples, this is the event for you.

Here’s a rundown on what you can expect at the Carrington-based venue and remember to head here to reserve your tickets! Oh and the day will run across two sessions – 12pm to 2.30pm and 2pm to 5.30pm so, plan accordingly and have a spiffing 2021 Wold Gin Day!

Fever Tree Gin Tasting Bar

Explore Earp Distilling Co’s array of gins and the Fever Tree tonic range while learning from the knowledgable team of distillers and mixologists on hand as well as host Rowan Prangley of True North Spirits one of the biggest brainboxes in the Oz spirits industry.

Or, everything you always wanted to know about gin but were afraid to ask!

Dean Gibson’s Gin X Chocolate

Australian pastry genius Dean Gibson has been preparing impeccable deserts and pastries for 40 years.

Inspired by the intriguing concept of blending gin and chocolate , Dean will be creating culinary alchemy in the Gin x Chocolate showcase.

Joel Humphreys Cooking on Flame

Chef Joel Humphreys (Scotties, Lost Boys Kebabs) definitely knows his way around a kitchen, having plied his trade at the likes of Rockpool, Bistro Moncur, Bodega 1904 and St. JOHN.

And for World Gin Day, Joel will bring his flair for experimentation and fresh produce to the fore, cooking on an open fire (sounds so inviting in these chilly days) incorporating some of Earp’s key gin botanicals into his dishes.

Oz Tukka Botanical Bar

Redhead-based bush food specialists Oz Tukka will present an abundant range of edible native plants – many of which are used in Earp Distilling Co. gins.

Explore the aromatic bush tucker flavours of wattleseed, pepper berry, aniseed myrtle and much more.

Goose on the Loose with Hampers of the Hunter

Let your taste buds do the exploring with premium quality, award-winning salami from Goose On The Loose and luxury Hunter cheeses, brought to you by Hampers Of The Hunter.

These delicious local small goods will get your mouth watering, with Hampers Of The Hunter hosting tastings and a large selection of cheeses, meats, and more for take-home sale.

That’s because. as part of their celebrations for Her Maj’s birthday, on Friday 11 June, the venue’s Balcony Bar will be hosting a Negroni Night featuring pop up bars from the awesome Farmer’s Wife Distillery and Earp Distilling Co.

Farmer’s Wife will showcase its new extremely limited Batch NJo. 2 Warm Winter Gin in a Smokey Winter Negroni and a Smokin’ Mule, while Earp will showcase its No. 8 Dry Gin in a Barrel aged Negroni and G & T!

And don’t forget to fill your home bars with awesome gins from other local producers such as Hunter Distillery, Styx Brewery, and Newy Distillery, to name a few!
