GAME ON: Women in Sport Festival dishes up a week of sports, music, and fun!

The Lake Macquarie Women in Sport Festival is back for another year of sports, music, and action-packed fun!

This week-long festival celebrates all things sport and offers a wide range of activities for everyone, from budding athletes to curious newcomers.

One of the festival highlights, the free Try a Sport Day on 5 March will give aspiring athletes the opportunity to get out on the pitch and watch or try a variety of sports without any cost or commitment.

The festival will celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March with a night of music from award-winning musician, broadcaster, actor, speaker, entrepreneur and author Clare Bowditch alongside special guest Georgie Winchester.

Friday Night Foodies, Lake Mac’s monthly food festival, will also be getting a healthy dose of sporting flavour on 10 March. Skaties 80’s and Newcastle Roller Derby League will give beginners and advanced skaters the opportunity to skate under lights and watch the Newcastle Roller Derby League’s skilled team display their game tactics with food dished up from Yen’s Yumm Banhs.

Check out the Sports Exhibition on 11 March, where festival-goers will be able to reflect on the progress of Women in Sport through fashion and performance.

On top of all that, there will be a range of community-led events and demonstrations happening all week long.

Don’t miss out on this inclusive and empowering event when it hits Lake Macquarie from 4 to 12 March 2023. To find out more about the festival head to lakemac.com.au.
