Iconic Dutch violinist Andre Rieu’s annual concerts in his home town on Maastricht have become quite the event, attracting fans from across the globe.
The gorgeous medieval town square is transformed into a spectacular backdrop for unforgettable concerts filled with humour, fun and emotion for all ages. This year’s theme is a dedication to the waltz.
Now you can experience the majesty of Andre’s latest concert Shall We Dance – a homage to the waltz on the big screen at Event Cinemas in Glendale and Kotara.
The majestic waltz has been such an inspiration to André Rieu throughout his career that its three-four beat has become, in many ways, the rhythm of his life.
From the European football semi-final in 1995, when André performed a classic waltz during the half-time interval to a stadium packed with 60,000 football fans, to his Maastricht concerts of 2011, where André premiered And The Waltz Goes On, composed by Oscar-winning actor Sir Anthony Hopkins, this popular dance has often taken centre stage.
ndré has composed many waltzes and since 1987, he and his Johann Strauss Orchestra have been delighting audiences all over the world with their magnificent renditions of classic waltzes.
Adre Rieu Shall we Dance will screen at Event Cinemas Glendale and Kotara on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July. Head here for details and session times.
