Wicking Out! Announces Full Lineup

Wicking Out! has revealed the final lineup for their inaugural show. The multi-venue all-day festival has announced 12 artists, coming from two countries and four cities, and coming to Wickham on Saturday June 10.

The festival will be headlined by New Zealand’s Carb On Carb – who are currently touring Australia supporting Joyce Manor on their headline shows in the country. Also topping out the bill are Brisbane’s FeelsClub, and local legends Vacations.

Wicking Out! will be taking place on Saturday June 10th across three venues in the greater Wickham area. Punters can jump in at any point, creating their own DIY pub crawl (with sick tunes instead of schooners).

Festival curator Jonathan McCallum said that the decision to make Wicking Out! a multi-venue festival was an incredibly easy one.

“We have so many spaces around Newcastle that we feel inspired by, and there was a bit of debate about where would be the best fit to hold it.” McCallum explains, “in the end, we wanted a chance to feature as many locations as possible, so we worked out a way to do that.”

“Hopefully by walking between the different venues on the day, punters get exposed to a new element of Newcastle’s creative backbone that they might not have seen before.”

Wicking Out! will also feature the first shows in Newcastle for artists like Prizegiving and Snape, while also showcasing some homegrown talent like Rachel Maria Cox and FRITZ. Entry to the festival is only $5, with all proceeds going towards the artists – but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.
