WHIP IT: Newcastle and Lake Macquarie top the nation when it comes to bondage

It appears that when it comes to the boudoir, the consenting adults of Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are not as ‘vanilla’ as some might have us believe.

That’s because ‘sexual happiness retailer’ Lovehoney have revealed that our neck of the woods is the nation’s BDSM hotspot!

Promoting its range of 50 Shades Of Grey-inspired, um, apparatus, the outlet also revealed that it was spanking (75% of women and 65% of men) and tying each other up (67% of women and 54% of men) that really gets the nation’s pulse racing.

Newcastle and Lake Macquarie topped the lascivious list above the Sunshine Coast, Mildura, Geelong and Perth.

Bendigo, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Gladstone and Ballarat rounded out the top ten.

While we are unsure of the veracity of the ‘research’ it’s always great to see our part of the world topping lists and whipping goals so, to all of you Christian Greys and Anastasias out there, spanks a lot!
