WHAT’S ON LAKE MAC: Your guide to events in Lake Macquarie this June

As June approaches, we’ve partnered up with the Lake Mac events team once again to share some of the highlights of their event calendar.

And it’s a pretty stacked one. This month you’ll be jumping into some amazing art, fun with your furry friends and a live music experience you’ll never forget.

So let’s get into it.

Rug up this Winter and enjoy Float Your Boat; an open competition for boat owners to dress their boats with lights and take part in a flotilla parade for cash prizes. Held on our beautiful Lake Macquarie, spectators will line the shores to watch boats in a rainbow of colour cruise past before casting their vote for the Newcastle Permanent People’s Choice Award for a chance to win a Lake Macquarie Cruises family pass ‘Lunch on the Lake Cruise’ for 2 adults & 2 Children valued at $199 or a $100 Visa Gift card! Three live sites will offer the perfect vantage point for locals and visitors to enjoy this spectacular event, with Toronto foreshore to play host on Friday followed by Warners Bay and Belmont foreshores on Saturday. Both evenings will feature entertainment, children’s activities, stallholders and food trucks for rugged-up revellers to enjoy from 4.30 pm to 8.30 pm. This year the Float Your Boat event sites will include street closures which will see the streets surrounding the live sites come to life with entertainment, light installations and street vendors, delivering a stronger connection between the event and local businesses. Bring along your family, friends & blankets & enjoy a spectacular night on the lake!

Friday 21 June: The flotilla will travel from Empire Marina Lake Macquarie to Toronto, Coal Point and Wangi Wangi
Saturday 22 June: The flotilla will travel from Belmont to Valentine, Eleebana, Warners Bay, and finish at Empire Marina Lake Macquarie.
