Joel Zika: Valley of a Thousand Plants

Securing the prestigious 2023 summer commission from MAP mima, Valley of a Thousand Plants takes centre stage as an immersive installation. Here, spectators find themselves enveloped by a myriad of local plants, brilliantly re-imagined into hyper-real animated forms. The visionary design behind this captivating experience comes courtesy of acclaimed media artist Joel Zika.

Rauschenberg and Johns: Significant Others

This project aims to acquaint Australian communities with the impactful work of two pivotal artists from the 20th century. This exhibition delves into the enduring legacy forged by Rauschenberg and Johns through their early creative exchanges and their mastery of printmaking practices.

Australian Deaf Games

The 2024 Deaf Games in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie promises to be the largest Deaf community event ever, featuring 15 sporting competitions, diverse cultural events, and over 1,000 participants. Join the festivities with up to 150 volunteers and be part of the historic closing ceremony celebration.

Lake Mac festival

Save the date for a weekend of family fun at the Lake Mac Festival 2024! Saturday night will light up with fireworks at various Lake Macquarie locations. And Sunday starts with a community breakfast at Rathmines Park featuring local community groups serving up delicious treats, family-friendly entertainment, and activities.
