I will be the first to admit that the weather in Newcastle lately has been absolute shite.
Rainy, cold, windy, you name it, we’ve had it. But what to do? After all, Newcastle is the kind of town where you spend time outside, going to the beach, having a picnic, exploring you know.
But what happens when it rains? Where do we go, what do we do and how do we go about doing it?
Here are our top five things to do in Newcastle when it’s apocalyptic out there.
Throw a cob loaf party
Yeah, you heard me. The only reason to go to a party is for the cob loaf, right? Why not throw a party made just for cob loaves?
You can wear trackies, eat bread and delicious dip, and watch Netflix. What a dream, am I right?
Embrace the rain
I mean sure, you could also embrace the rain. Why not don a rain jacket and explore the town in a whole new way!
And I mean seriously, when was the last time you wore a rain jacket and jumped in puddles. #youth
Hide out in a bookstore
There are many in town and what better way to spend a rainy day than surrounded by books. Old books, new books, new stories, anything you could hope for on a beautiful rainy day.
Just stay home
Look there’s nothing wrong with a good old fashioned staycation. I mean maybe you like the cob loaf idea but didn’t really want to socialise.
So why not stay home, make a blanket fort, and watch all of those old movies you always wanted to see.
I can’t imagine a better way to spend a rainy day than wandering around the museum. I’m sure you’ve always wanted to find out more about our amazing town and when have you ever given yourself the opportunity.
The rainy day is your ticket to opportunity.
