West Thebarton bring Pist Idiots, and local lords Blue Velvet to The Cambo in June

West Thebarton have announced that they will be stopping into Newcastle for a headline show on their Different Beings Being Different Tour in June.

The band will be playing The Cambridge Hotel Sidebar on Saturday June 9th, and it’s Australian fans last chance to see the band before the head over to the UK to play the infamous Reading & Leeds Festivals. Joining them in the expedition to pack out the room are Sydney bad boys Pist Idiots, and local lords Blue Velvet.

The Adelaide seven-piece have blown up over the past year; they dropped their latest single ‘Moving Out’ earlier in the year, and self-proclaimed super-fan James Tidswell (from Violent Soho) signed them to his new label, Domestic La La

The band are on the precipice of releasing their new album Different Beings Being Different. It comes out on vinyl, CD, and digital platforms on Friday, May 18th.

Committed to tape over just one week, between day jobs, West Thebarton’s debut album was recorded with Dylan Adams; tracked at Twin Earth Studios in Adelaide’s southwest, and mixed at Adams’ own studio in Coogee, NSW. Greg Calbi then mastered the record at Sterling Sound Studios in New York City.

Frontman Reverend Ray describes the new LP as “real Aussie straight-from-the-gut rock. I wanted the record to be fucking grandiose, like INXS or Midnight Oil, but not try and be a pub rock cliche.”
