WELCOME BACK: FAD Sessions announces September return!

After pulling up stumps last month in the wake of a raft of temporary local venue closures due to COVID-19 exposure Newcastle live-streaming outlet From A Distance (FAD) Sessions has announced its welcome return.

In a case of you can’t keep a good thing down FAD, the brainchild of Joshua Barnett and Allon Silove will be kicking off again this month and the first cab off the rank will be a ’90s-themed trivia event at their home of the Gallipoli Legion Club in Hamilton on Wednesday 16 September.

Komiti and Joshua will throw out a slew of head scratches from the decade that gave us Kris Kross, The Macarena and the Backstreet Boys and the event will also feature performances and live video.

Gig wise, fans of lilting melodies and quality songwriting will be in for a real treat with four brilliant Newcastle acts taking to the Gal stage on Thursday 17 September.

The haunting folk of Photo of The Moon whose first two singles Raining (Can Sit Around And Marvel) and Photo of The Moon are absolute must-listens. will be joined by the sincere balladry of Lo Monaco.

Also appearing will be Berlyn, whose recently released single Crowded has been pricking up a few ears around the traps (not least of which ours) and the haunting voice of Georgie Winchester.

FAD Back to the ’90s Trivia is on Wednesday 16 September. FAD Fest Thursdays featuring Photo Of The Moon, Lo Monaco, Berlyn, and Georgie Winchester is on Thursday 17 September. Head here for more info.
