Hot on the heels of a sold-out single launch show at The Royal Exchange last week, Newcastle singer-songwriter Georgina Grimshaw has released the clip to her new track Old Friend.
The clip, created for Georgina by Gravity Films kicks off with a sunny singer-songwriter happily making her way, in a cute VW Bug, to a gathering of friends.
However, Georgina finds herself ostracised at the gathering, having to eat a slice of cake on the stairs with only a dog for company.

While dealing a rather serious issue, much like the song, the clip ends on a high note full of optimism.
Newcastle Live reported, last week, that the track was inspired by Georgina’s experiences with her former church.
“I felt like in losing our faith we started to believe in ourselves more,” Georgina said. “My partner and I realised the church we were going to was more of a cult.”
Explaining that she and her partner felt shunned by friends after leaving the church, the experience made her rethink her approach to faith altogether.
“At first, we tried attending another church but after meeting similar people with agendas, we decided we were better off without religion,” she said.
Taking to Facebook over the weekend, Georgina revealed that she was over the moon with the way the single had been received adding that the single’s launch was a “magical soul to soul connection.”
Shearing a pic of a packed Royal Exchange, Georgina wrote: “I’m so happy to say that last night’s single launch was all I could have hoped it would be. I poured my heart out but somehow left feeling even more full. I’m so grateful to of had a sold out show with amazing support acts.
“Thankyou to everyone who came and sang along to all my songs, especially during #OldFriend that was a precious moment I will cherish always.”
