Warren “Waz” Smith co-founded Surfest with Nat Jefferey and the late Robbie Woodin 1985 with help from Council aldermen and Warren’s dad, Kevin.

Surfest’s regional economic benefit to the Hunter has been estimated at $60 million since its inception.
