It’s the Wickham-based power pole that has become somewhat of a Newcastle celebrity of late.
And now THAT Foundry Street pole could very well become the city’s hottest wedding venue.
Yep, that’s right. Marriage celebrant Kerryn Tippett from Wed by Kez and photographer Kitty Stayte-Winning from Lilly and Twine Photography have teamed up to give you and your paramour the chance to tie the knot at Newcastle’s most trending landmark.

“It started out as a bit of a joke,” Kerryn said of the idea that she put to Facebook on Tuesday. “But then it has kind of snowballed.”
Within hours of the initial post, Kitty got in touch to offer her services which prompted Kerryn to issue a secondary post.
It read: “This is now a thing. Lily & Twine Photography and Wed By Kez will help you renew your vows, have a quick commitment ceremony or have a professional photo with the pole on Friday 15th November from 5pm.”

The posts continued, explaining that for a minimum $50 donation, you will get a three-minute ceremony, a pole-themed certificate and a photo commemorating that special day.
And best of all? All proceeds will be going to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital!
Kerryn, who has officiated nearly 700 weddings said that this venue would be the oddest she had ever attended.

“Oh, most definitely,” she laughed. “I’ve never been to a wedding on the side of the road before. It’s going to be a first.”
The nuptials will take place at THE infamous Foundry Street pole on Friday 15 November from 5pm.
