Newcastle Band, Trataka head to Bar 121 in Lambton this Saturday, 18 February. We caught up with lead singer, Donna to ask what the band have been up to and what we can expect when they take to the stage this weekend.

NL: You describe your band as โ€œhigh energyโ€ – Why was that do important to you guys when you put the outfit together?

We believe that having confidence and knowing our skills as a professional band allows us to enter into the zone of high performance. Each band member of Trataka has had many years of live performing in front of thousands which allows our energy to flow and engage the audiane with passion and ease. Trataka are not lazy performers we just love to put on a great live show.

NL: Tell us about your debut EP, the song Live To Ride, Ride To Live and where we can grab a copyโ€ฆ

Live to Ride , Ride to Live was written in conjunction with Trataka being asked to be the headline act for the Bikers for kids annual Toy Run in 2015 and 2016. Our powerhouse rock Diva Donna is also a member of the international Ladies of Hog and loves to cruise around on her Harley Davidson. Now that’s pretty rock , wouldn’t you say, I think the song title is rather self explanatory . There are 3 killer tracks on the self titled Ep. Live to Ride, Ride to live, Liar and Man in black. The Ep’s are available at Trataka shows depending on availability, on itunes, and ReverbNation.

NL: Tell us about the Trataka rock clubโ€ฆ

The Trataka Tribe are our fans and are part of our rock club.

NL: What makes a great gig?

A good crowd attendance with friends and familiar faces in the audience all make it worthwhile. We never forget the faces of people that show up for the gigs and Trataka truly appreciates everyone’s support. It is so very rewarding after gigs when people constantly rave to the band members and tell them how much they loved the show. Our fans are asking to hear more of our original songs at gigs and are playing our Cd’s, so i think we must be onto something pretty decent here.

NL: Tell us about this photo

This promotional pic was taken as part of our $2000 prize package through Evocative management. The photo shoot was great and Trataka are looking forward to a new photo shoot in the near future with some awesome chrome bikes and with a new face in the band.

NL: Rock is a very broad church these days. What elements do you think a band needs to call themselves a ROCK BAND?

I don’t think the term Rock will ever be the same as it was. Trataka are passionate about keeping rock alive. Who are gonna take the places of the mega touring bands over the next 5 to 10 years when those super touring bands are no longer with us? So for those about to rock we will continue to salute you!.

NL: What can punters expect when you play Bar 121 on 18 Feb?

The Punters, our fans and the Trataka tribe are going to witness the debut of our new bassist in the band. Over the last several months we have had temporary bassists to fill the position of our gig demands until the right, enthusiastic bassist came along that shared the same passion that we as Trataka value. Trataka are thrilled to announce that they have recruited Shane Pinchen as part of the permanent Trataka lineup. Come along to Bar 121 this Saturday night and welcome our awesome new bassist!
