Look, I get it. Not everyone wants giant New Year’s plans and no Brigid, no matter how many times you tell people we all know you’re not going to a crazy party in London.
Want to stay in this year? I only have one thing to say… You. Do. You. There is so much pressure put onto New Year’s Eve that sometimes it’s all too much.
If you can’t jet on some amazing holiday (hey who knows maybe you really are going to London) why not make yourself a delicious cheese plate and settle in for some solid screen time.
Yes, I know that this is technically a Christmas movie but maybe you’re just trying to relive the good times you had all of 5 days or so ago. This movie is warm and funny and Jack Black is in it. Duh
The Haunting of Hill House
Needed an excuse to watch one of the scariest TV series known to man? Ok fine maybe not known to man but it’s still bloody good. If you’re staying in this New Year’s, sit back, try to relax, and welcome to Hill House
The Bond movies
I’m not going to get into a debate as to which Bond movie is best (obviously it’s GoldenEye everyone knows that Debrah) but they make for a perfect companion to what would otherwise be a lonely New Year’s Eve. Full of action, romance, suspense, bad (and very good) special effects. Hi winning. Oh and they are all on Stan now too.
It’s awful, horrible and look you just can’t turn away. If you’re looking for something to distract you from just how awful you feel staying at home on New Year’s, look no further than the Twilight series. You can also split your time between watching the movies and googling things that the characters have said about how much they hate the movies. #winning
Literally pick any of them. They are all great and what a way to spend a night in! Whether it’s hoarders, Wild Wild Country, Stalkers Who Kill, Dogs, Planet Earth, Making a Murderer, Conspiracies, The Staircase, Blue Planet, whatever. Watch all of them and all at once if you like. What better way to kick off the New Year than the opportunity to learn new things, or be absorbed into someone else’s crazy world for a change.
