Well, the results are in.
A little while ago, we asked you, dear readers, which of the many world-class wineries that we enjoy here in the Hunter Region stood head and shoulders above the rest.
Not an easy question, we know but you certainly weren’t backward in coming forward when it came to nominating your go-to cellar doors in our part of the world.
After whittling a swag of nominations down to a final Top Six, we put it to you to pick the best of the best and, after we here at Newcastle Live spend many (totally necessary) hours quaffing away to our heart’s content as we compiled the votes, we have arrived at the final list.
One winery proved to be massively popular with Hunter wine afficionados, snagging nearly 50 per cent of the votes!
Elsewhere, though it was a much tighter race with two wineries tying for second place while those that rounded out the six were almost neck and neck.
The biggest take-homes from this, have been that: 1) We are so bloody lucky to have such top-quality producers in our neck of the woods, and 2) This list could very well form the basis of one hell of a Hunter Valley wine tour!
So, without further ado your favourite Hunter Valley winery is…
