With The Exchange recently undergoing an impressive multi-million dollar revamp, it makes sense that management would want to showcase the new digs in as spectacular style possible.
The popular Newcastle drag performer will be hosting a new weekly event at the Hamilton watering hole dubbed Sunday Service.
Speaking to Newcastle Live, Timberlina said Sunday Service will be the perfect way to farewell the week that was.
“Sunday Service is a brand new inclusive event – anyone and everyone can come,” Timberlina said.
“We’re going to have full production drag shows, solo shows and just a bunch of fun. Or at least as much fun as you can have during COVID.
“It’s going to be fun over the top and really camp. We want to show newcastle that queer performers are well and truly here to stay. We ain’t going anywhere.
The weekly event will kick off from 3pm every Sunday on the venue’s balcony for cocktails from the impressive menu at the Swill Bar.
Then, from 7pm, the fun moves downstairs into the venue’s impressive performance space dubbed Live At The X for lively drag performances and DJs until midnight.
Oh, and as a cheeky added bonus for the early birds, you can pick up a tempting Antipasti Board with a bottle of wine or bubbles for just $55 from 3pm!
And Timberlina added that for the inaugural iteration of Sunday Service, all of the stops will be well and truly pulled out.
“During COVID I ran Timberlina’s Drag Off and the winner is a drag King which is one of the first times in Australian history that a drag King has won a competition.,” Timberlina said.
“So we get to open our first production show with Orlando Gloom and Foxy Faux, the Timberlina Drag Off winners for 2018 and 2020 and myself – it’s going to be massive.”
Sunday Service is on at The Exchange every Sunday from 3pm. Head here for more information.
