Hot on the heels of the announcement of their sophomore album I Just Do What God Tells Me To Do, everyone’s favourite TV punks These New South Whales are headed to Newcastle for TWO shows at the Cambridge.
Yep, that’s right, the four-piece will be hitting up the Cambo on Saturday 30 November and then backing up on Sunday 1 December with an all-ages show!
The band recently gave us a second taste of what to expect on the new album, in the form of the quite poppy In The Light Of Day.
Frontman Jamie Timothy, aka The Workhorse, said the new album would represent a new direction for the band.
“When we were approaching these new recordings all we knew is that they were going to be different from our first album. We’re interested in growth,” he said.”
“In The Light of Day is easily the sunniest song we have ever written. It’s punk but it’s not punk. We just did what God told us to do.”
The track follows the Ramones/Buzzcocks-esque Nerve 2 Reverse which got some love on Triple j and FBi this year.
These shows are sure to be an experience and, to make things even better Newcastle’s own RAAVE TAPES and Sydney punks Arse are coming along for the ride!
Oh, and I Just Do What God Tells Me To Do is out on Friday 8 November.
