Are you ready for a heft dose of fuzz-drenched rock and roll?
Well, you’re in luck because Melbourne-based two-piece Thee Cha Cha Chas is coming to town to lead a formidable five-band bill guaranteed to blow the doors of Mayfield Bowlo this weekend.
Consisting of Kylie Kooks on bass and the aptly named Louis Fuzzhound on guitar, vocals, and drums (yes, at the same time!) Thee Cha Cha Chas are all about lo-fi garage rock goodness (that would not be out of place on a Nuggets compilation)infectious melodies and a smattering of punk rock attitude for good measure.
If the likes of The Cramps float your boat then this is one two-piece that is sure to get those hips a swingin’ in no time!
And that’s not all folks, because, before this tubthumping main course, you’re going to be served up a hefty entree of musical goodness courtesy of Newy indie-punk three-piece The Not Nots who are sure to be firing on all cylinders after their recent bravura support set with You Am I at the Cambo.
If that wasn’t enough, you’ll also be able to dig into the tasty tunes of local garage rockers The Mild Times, the very real melodic rockers The Imaginary Things, and last, but certainly not least Central Coast looseness enthusiasts Space Boozzies.
If you’re not au fait with the scene, the Bowlo’s Backroom has been hosting cracking gigs like this for some time now and any spot willing to take a punt on original music is fine by us and definitely worthy of your support.
Oh, and this show is perfect for those aging gig pigs because it kicks off at the very respectable time of 5pm. Also the frugal among us will be chuffed to know that this little rock and roll soiree is totally free!
Catch the Cha Cha Chas, The Not Nots, The Space Boozies, The Mild Times, and The Imaginary Things at Mayfield Bowling Club on Saturday 5 June.
