Are you looking for a tubthumping good time?
Well, you’re in luck because the Wicko is hosting the Newcastle Rockabilly Festival this weekend and it’s set to be an absolute barnburner.
Some of the rockingest Oz acts to ever grace a stage will be slinging top-quality tunes all day, led by the masterful guitar stylings of Pat Capocci.
One of the hardest working musos in the biz, the Maitland-bred axeman has quite rightly earned a reputation for being one of the most respected practitioners of rockabilly and roots tunes in the country.
He’s played with the likes of Reverend Horton Heat, Tiger Army, Justin Townes Earle, and Chris Isaak and if you’ve seen this guy in action you’d know that his mesmerising fretwork is NOT to be trifled with.
If that wasn’t enough, the venue’s main stage will also feature the formidable talents of Wes Pudsey and the Sonic Aces, along with local legends The Flattrakkers and Coral Lee.
Revelers keen to while away a few hours in the Wicko’s beer garden will be well taken care of with the likes of the Brien McVernon and Adam Gear Duo, and DJ Brian One Flare bringing the al fresco tunes ALL DAY.
So, get your glad rags on, head on down to the Wicko this weekend and dance your cares away.
Oh, and the whole shindig is FREE!
The Newcastle Rockabilly Festival is on at the Wickham Park Hotel on Saturday 16 March.
