He’s the dark-edged avant-garde artist who lifted ventriloquism into the 21st century thanks to his virtuosic skill and a loveable cast of characters including Ted E Bare and Chuck Wood.
And the ever-popular David Strassman is headed back to the Hunter for a run of dates this November with his latest show The Chocolate Diet.
The Chocolate Diet is a hilarious look at our obsession with sweets and lollies, a send-up of our failed diets, and Ted E Bare’s drama with his self-image and a lifelong eating problem.
Ted’s problem is only getting worse and he can’t get the support he needs, especially with the sneaky Chuck Wood leaving tempting donuts around. And Chuck has his own personal drama; He has a sneaking suspicion that he was carved into the wrong body.
David Strassman is credited with being the inventor of post-modern ventriloquism while performing internationally for over 40 years.
His unique and original style, along with his renegade puppets you wouldn’t want to meet in a dark alley, have earned him prestigious accolades the world over.
A favourite in Australia, David has just filmed his sixth DVD and performs in pretty much every city and town.
He regularly visits children’s hospitals with his lovable Ted E. Bare, bringing much-needed laughter and smiles to those kids in need.
If you’ve seen Strassman and the gang in full flight, you’d know that this is one show that is sure to have ’em rolling in the aisles.
