The internationally acclaimed comedy, The Play That Goes Wrong is making its way to the stage in Newcastle in 2025.
It’s like a murder mystery meets 1920s period piece where everything goes off the rails with plenty of lols.
The show follows the earnest but accident-prone cast and crew of The Cornley Drama Society who are trying desperately to get it together but broken props, forgotten lines, and missed cues just keep getting in the way.
Directed by Mark Bell and brought to life with set designs by Nigel Hook and costumes by Roberto Surace the show debuted in London’s Old Red Lion Theatre before exploding in popularity, accumulating over 3.5 million viewers across 49 countries. The West End run alone has seen more than 3,500 performances at the Duchess Theatre.
Co-written by Mischief Theatre company members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, the show continues to be a big hit with audiences around the world and is expected to be a hot ticket when it lands in Newcastle
