When it comes to musical world-beaters, the Emerald Isle has quite an impressive. resume, with the likes of U2, Snow Patrol, Van Morrison, The Cranberries and Hozier all calling Ireland home.
Well, it is that killer soundtrack that forms the musical basis of a new show coming to the Civic Theatre in 2021.
Eireborne is much more than another Irish dance show, but rather a contemporary theatrical experience that takes Irish music and dance to a whole new level.
Fifteen world-class Irish dancers will hit the stage, alongside a rocking six-piece rip through a killer set full of hits from the aforementioned crop of talent as well as those tear-jerking Irish standards.
Fronting the 15-strong dance ensemble (featuring dancers from such iconic shows as Riverdance and Lord Of The Dance) is former Riverdance cast member, Peta Anderson. Along with co-directing the production, Peta’s choreography showcases her unique ability to fuse the styles of Irish dance with tap rhythms and beats.
“When I first created the concept of Eireborne I wanted to feature Irish dancers in a way we haven’t been seen before,” Peta said.
“Eireborne allowed me to push the boundaries as the choreographer and revolutionise Irish dance which shows just how versatile and mesmerising Irish dance can be.”
The show is narrated by Toby Francis (We Will Rock You: Arena Spectacular) while lead vocal duties will be tak3n on by Reigan Derry (Australian Idol, Scarlett Belle, X Factor)
Eireborne is an Australian production that has been taking this country and much of Europe by storm thanks to its energetic and larger-than-life delivery.
