Aussie music icon Glenn Shorrock will headline a stellar line-up of talent next month for the Radio Waves music festival.
We all knew when this COVID nonsense hit that gigs and festivals would start to look a little different in a post-pandemic world. Well, Radio Waves is quite unique in that it’s a drive-in music festival, whereby each individual car can be it’s own socially distanced party.
You just roll up, tune your radio in, sit back, relax and let those tunes wash over you. And best of all, while a traditional movie drive-in might offer you a double feature, Radio Waves doubles that offering.
WIN: To celebrate the RadioWaves Drive-in Concert Experience coming to Morisset on Saturday 28 November we’ve got a ticket for 1 vehicle (valued at $200) to giveaway.
Aside from legendary Little River Band and Axiom frontman Glenn Shorrock, the fest will be rounded out by the formidable talents of the legendary Jeff Duff, blues wizards The Steve Edmonds Band, and on-the-rise Central Coast three-piece Little Quirks!
Given the length and breadth of Glen Shorrock’s career, you could only assume writing a set-list in 2020 could prove quite problematic. But, given the number of timeless classics in his songbook, including the likes of Reminiscing, Cool Change, Help Is On Its Way, and Little Ray Of Sunshine, you can rest assured that any set this legend compiles is going to be memorable.
If you’ve seen the flamboyant, eclectic and formidably talented Jeff Duff step into the shoes of Ziggy Stardust in his brilliant Bowie Unzipped show, you’d know he’s the closest thing to David Bowie you’re ever likely to see.
Regarded as one of the greatest entertainers in this country, Jeff will deliver a set peppered with Bowie classics along with cuts from such iconic American bands as Blood Sweat and Tears and Chicago.
When it comes to ‘chops’ the Steve Edmonds band have more than a butcher shop window. They have quite rightly earned a reputation as one of the most energentic and on point blued bands in the country and watching Steve work his masterful magic on the fretboard is like attending a masterclass in musical passion.
With their stunning Cover My Eyes EP pricking up many ears around the country, familial Central Coast three-piece Little Quirks are going from strength to strength.
Their latest track Florence’s Town is a lush folk pop number that bristles with the same catchy-as-heck vibe and stunning vocal delivery that is gaining Little Quirks a rep as a trio to be reckoned with.
Radio Waves is on at Morisset Showground on Saturday 28 November. Head here for tickets and more info.
