With the likes of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast attracting a $100 million exclusivity deal with Spotify, it’s pretty much a free-kick that the medium has arrived as a force to be reckoned with.
A little closer to home and we’re pretty spoiled for choice when it comes to top-quality, locally produced podcasts, too (Oversubscribed, Hey Soul Sista, The Joust and Newy Tech People to name a few).
Well, to celebrate the art of the cast, the city will host the Newcastle Podcast Festival next month.
Running across various venues from Friday 18 February to Sunday 21 February, the festival aims to educate and entertain podcasters from all walks of life with a meeting of the most advanced podcasting minds from Australia and beyond.
The fest will feature more events than you can poke a stick at (including the inaugural Newcastle Podcast Awards at Novotel Newcastle Beach on Saturday 20 February) and just to whet your appetite here are just a few highlights.
