The Gum Ball drop sets times & official program for their biggest lineup yet

It’s arguably their biggest line up to date, so putting together the program and set times for The Gum Ball 2018 couldn’t have been an easy job. But when it landed yesterday we had to tip our hat to the folks at Dashville, they’ve put together an impressive lineup of music, culture and activities for the festival weekend Friday 27th – Sunday 29th April.

Below we break down the program day by day and give you a few hints and tips to make the most of your weekend in Dashville.

You can click here to download the full program.

The Friday afternoon will kick off with a Welcome To Country at 3 pm and continue with music from local artists like Nicholas Connors and internationals The Squirts (from Canada) and The Cribs (from the UK).  Headlining the Friday night is Brisbane’s Butterfingers who in our opinion are worth the admission price alone.

#PROTIP: Don’t miss Gleny Rae Virus in her new act, Daughters Of The Rum Rebellion. They’ll be on the Dashville porch at 5:15. We love Gleny here at Newcastle Live and this new act looks like a great time with a cheeky twist.

Headlining the Saturday night is the amazing REMI. But the music and entertainment leading up to the headline slot is nothing to sneeze at. Keep an eye out for locals, Lennie Tranter & Dave Wells early on. They’ve both released amazing music recently and have been dominating stages around the region picking up fans everytime they play.

Saturday’s Gum Ball lineup also sees the return of Ben Salter to Dashville. Ben has been a favourite of the Newcastle Live team since catching his set at Bigsound a few years ago. His live performances are passionate and rocky affairs and should have the lunchtime crowd thoroughly entertained.

#PROTIP: Something special happens when The Dashville Progress Society hit the stage. It’s a whos who of local musos and every time we’ve caught their set we’ve been left asking ourselves – “what the fuck just happened”. Don’t miss it.

There’s nothing like a Sunday at Dashville.

Morning Yoga is back this year, and even if you’re not up for a morning stretch you’ve got to check it out. There’s something about a bunch of people doing Yoga in the early morning Dashville air that’s quite unique.

#PROTIP: Don’t feel the need to rush off after Baghead’s set. Take your time and enjoy the wind down, make some new friends and plan for next year before you head back to the rush of everyday life.
