What a day to be out and about! Sun, surf, sand and burgers! The @burwoodinn provided the goods with a lazy Saturday feed and a cold bev to boot. This pub has a long, healthy Newy history behind its doors that welcomes it into local legendom. The Burwood Burger is the only burg on the menu, and truthfully we always expect big things from a namesake. The pressure was on. We need not have worried. 100% Northern Tablelands Wagyu beef, smokey bacon, grilled cheese, tomato, house-made pickle and mixed-leaf lettuce on a brioche bun. Winner winner Burwood dinner. A smashing beef patty, great texture, well cooked, amazing flavour. The bacon was charred, letting the smokeyness shine through. Amongst all these winning elements was a dill-infused pickle/mustard creamy sauce. The flavour from this sauce is truthfully what tips this hand-held heaven from a high scorer to a front runner. Served with chips and all for $16 – safe to say we left the Burwood fuller than Joey’s nasal cavity did in the 90s. Newcastle, you gotta try this one. ?????
