After the final performance with the Beasts of Bourbon, Tex Perkins decided it was now or never. Get all of the band’s members, past and present, into a recording studio. And that’s what we’ll be celebrating when The Beasts hit The Cambridge Hotel on Saturday, 9 March. We had a quick chat to guitarist Kim Salmon ahead of their arrival.
“There was really no agenda. Tex knew there would be few chances moving forward and we just did it” Kim tells us about the recording.
And so it was, Charlie Owen, Boris Sujdovic, Tony Pola, Spencer Jones, Kim Salmon and Tex Perkins in a recording studio laying down tracks just because.
The late, and great, Spencer Jones was only around long enough to make it onto one track and sadly, bassist Brian Hooper didn’t make it along as he passed away a week after the Beasts last show.
“It’s basically a recording of what’s left – The Beasts Still Here” Kim explains.
The Beasts Still Here national tour kicks off later this month and stops into Newcastle’s Cambridge Hotel on Saturday, 9th of March.
