THE BARE NECESSITIES: Top five Disney musicals to binge this weekend

With the weather being a tad unpredictable of late, if things turn apocalyptic, there is only one safe bet – a weekend of Netflix and chill (or I guess you can drop the chill if you really want to).

But what to watch?

And how to watch it? Step right up friends, let’s get nostalgic, turn out blankets into capes and be the hero of our own story with these classic Disney musicals.

1. The Lion King

The original, obviously, ain’t nobody got time for any sort of live-action nonsense. If you haven’t sat down and watched this OG classic in a while brace yourself, and have the tissues handy.

2 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

I’m sure a few of us are still searching for our Prince Charming (or just wondering which one of the seven dwarfs would be the most fun to hang out with).

But it’s also one of the greatest Disney musicals of our time. Hi Ho, it’s off to the couch we go!

3. Frozen

Popular with small children around the globe, this is a movie which will have you feeling like you just can’t let it go (now it’s stuck in your head huh).

This is fun, new, and full of catchy tunes that will have you building a snowman in no time. (Only if you wanna).

4. Mulan

Because heck yes I wanna make a man out of you!

Well, not me personally but someone will, and that’s exactly what you’ll feel like doing when you watch this movie. Who doesn’t want to bring their family honour, huh?

Now go out there and make me proud.

5. The Jungle Book

Again, the OG. live-action is still a big (big) no-no. This movie will help you regain some much-needed perspective on life.

The bare necessities and all that ya know? Whether you’re a Balloo of a Bagheera, there’s something in this movie for everyone. Trust in me etc. etc.
