When it comes to your palate, would you describe yourself as adventurous? Do you like your meals to be more of a surprise than mere sustenance?
Well, if either are the case The Commonwealth Hotel has got you covered.
That’s because, at the start of every week, the popular Cooks Hill watering hole is hosting Moreish Mystery Mondays – an evening of gastronomic intrigue.
The concept is simple, every Monday the venue’s chefs will create a bespoke dining experience, whereby the kitchen is in complete control.
As the name suggests, each of the three courses remain a complete mystery until they arrive at your table.
The surprises don’t end their, either because the whole shebang will only set you back a miserly $35 for three courses plus bread and you can throw in an extra $10 to nab a mystery cocktail!
Not bad at all.
And judging by this week’s iteration.it seems the answer to this mystery was deliciousness.
Diners were treated to an all-killer-no-filler bill of fare kicking of with a panko crumbed prawn and pickled salad entree and a main of pork scallopini with fondant potatoes, broccolini and a creamy port sauce.
Desert meanwhile was a sweet tooth’s delight – a blood orange Commy cup featuring an orange cheesecake, raspberry caramel and pistachio popcorn, blood orange sorbet and Persian fairy floss.
This sweet treat was matched with an Amaretto Malibu Pistachio Delight cocktail that paired perfectly with the desert.
