The Tamworth Country Music Festival will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year and a bunch of local acts are making the road trip too.
Festival Manager, Barry Harley says planning for the 2022 anniversary event will continue despite the current COVID-19 restrictions.
Visitors to Tamworth in January next year can expect some of the biggest names and emerging talent in Australian country music, including a stack of artists from the Hunter.
Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres says that country music lovers from New South Wales should get ready for a blockbuster event.
“With NSW residents responding so positively to the call to get vaccinated, we can optimistically look forward to coming together for major events and welcoming visitors into our communities to the benefit of the local visitor economy,” Mr Ayres said.
“Fans can rest assured that country music will still be found in Tamworth next January, as this city is and always will be the capital of country music in Australia.”
While more lineup and show announcements are still to come, there is already a stack of great local acts hitting Tamworth between the 14th and 23rd of January 2022.
