After a hugely successful melding of culinary minds back in September last year, popular Newcastle eateries Susuru and MEET have joined forces once again.
Last time we were treated to the Smoky Red MEET Ramen – a hearty and morish treat that perfectly married some of the tastiest smoked brisket we have tried in some time with Susuru’s Asian flourishes like Sichuan spiced chilli oil and kimchi roasted eggplant.
Well, it seems the boffins in both kitchens have hit it out of the park again with their latest creation – The Smoked Barbacoa MEET Ramen.
And if pork is your thing, then you’re going to be in hog heaven after just one bite thanks to a hefty helping of MEET’s smoky pulled pork that is overflowing with the flavours of Brazillian BBQ.
Add to that some of Susuru’s scorched Miso broth with chipotle and lime, and top the whole thing off with a pico de gallo salsa, avocado oil puree, pickled jalepenos and fresh coriander you have yourself a dish that is guaranteed to live long on the palate and in the memory.
It is a celebration of two of the great food traditions – barbecue and ramen – together in one bowl. How can you go wrong?
This bowl of culinary harmony won’t be around forever, but it is available at Susuru now for takeaway, delivery and dine-in so get in while the getting is good!
Susuru has been truly hitting it out of the park of late with its monthly ramen special – in particular last month’s Mushroom Madness.
And it looks as though that tradition is set to continue for some time.
Susuru is located at 140 King Street Newcastle.
